With many organisations placing stringent demands on password structure (length, mixture of characters, no repeats, regular changes, etc.) it is not surprising that many people have problems remembering their unique password. This can cause a lot of disruption to a business, with employees being locked out of networks and applications due to password violations. It can also have a negative effect on customer satisfaction when customers are unable to login or access their accounts.
Consequently, it is perhaps not surprising that the majority of calls to internal help desks, as well as a large number of calls to customer service centres are requests for password resets.
VePass™ is a self-service password reset application from VeCommerce, that can alleviate this resource-intensive process. When a password is forgotten and needs to be reset, the individual can now reset their details through a self-service process utilising the power of speech recognition or voice biometrics. By simply answering a series of personal questions or by reciting a unique identifier, their password will be automatically reset and either disclosed over the phone or issued via email.
